You know what would be great? I think I can come up with a way to get jQuery involved and we can one-up Uncrate by not loading a new page, but animating between view options. That would be rad. I'll work on that.

I have a few ideas about this. I think the easiest solution might involve making a page template that pulls all the posts through a query, but maybe I can do a little research and come up with something better. You may have motivated me to write a new post :)

http://uncrate.com

sorry that was a bad link (if you look to the top right they have an option to view as grid | list | full)

I either want that or an entire new page that my posts will automatically go to as well as on the regular front home page

Well, I got it working. The problem was I had the image src wrong! What a dunce..

..Here is the thing, I was hoping to get an alternate page that could have all of my posts in a grid and another in standard blog form.

Do you know how to do that? Basically I want to put a grid of all my posts on a separate page (or perhaps a different "view " option suck as they have at http://uncrate.com)

Thanks, your tutorial is A+ !

Nothing shows up on the page at all? Or you get an error?

What does your code look like?

This didn't work for me, nothing shows up on the page.php where I put the code. Basically just need that Container 5 Code from above and the CSS? Am I missing something?

One of the more fascinating developments in recent past, I think, has been the rise of some of the 'post-to-everything' type of services. I want to cover some of this in part 4, but so many of them pop up and then fizzle out for reasons that are not entirely clear to me. I use posterous a lot because of exactly what you're talking about. I've got friends across a lot of different sites, and though there is a fair amount of overlap, everyone isn't in the same place. So I like being able to post to Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook all at once, but it has some obvious drawbacks. I'll probably get a clearer idea once I start trying to write the article, but I think it makes me lazier overall, in a way. Because I can just click one button and share everywhere I end up interacting with the individual sites a lot less...

Finally we have part 2 ;)

It is amazing how many services are out there similar to Tumblr. I have signed up with most of them (http://samrag.tumblr.com/), but I still don't really get them. If Facebook would come up with a nice interface instead of just the newswall, I would only post content to Facebook. The bottom line is that I am trying to share something I liked, and doing that on tumblr requires me to have people visit the site. Posting it on Facebook means that my friends will see it automatically as they are visiting Facebook for many other reasons than just to check my postings.

See you on post 3
